APFED Awards for Good Practices
(Ryutaro Hashimoto Awards)
"The Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Awards for Good Practices" aims at promoting information dissemination of good practices towards sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
The awards will be given to organisations in recognition of practices that have made outstanding contributions in promoting environmental management and sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific.
Applications are open ONLY to organisations and NOT to individuals. Organisations wishing to apply must be properly established under the law of that Asia-Pacific country. These include national or local governments, private sector corporations, non-profit organisations, civil society organisations, academic and research institutions. Awards will be given to recognise the practices that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in promoting environmental management and sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific. The awards will be given in the following three categories:

The APN enables activities that generate and transfer knowledge on the physical and human dimensions of change in the Earth System with a focus on:
1. Climate
2. Ecosystems, Biodiversity and Land Use
3. Changes in the Atmospheric, Terrestrial and Marine Domains
4. Use of Resources (such as food, water, energy, materials) and Pathways for Sustainable Development
5.Cross-cutting issues and Science-policy linkages

4. Contribute to education and awareness of local stakeholders.
